Roderick Vos : “Based on the characteristic, evolutionary, beautifully curved leaf shapes of Asian trees I wanted to realise a reinterpretation of a chair, and ‘re-use’ these organic and fluent curved shapes with it’s extremely strong structure. This concept was used as a source of inspiration for me, while creating my first piece of an aluminium casted chaise longue. I wanted to create a new aesthetic object for this century, as a reaction to the tubular steel looking structure of the well-known chaise longue from Le Corbusier, dated from the 20’s. The only resemblance is, that this object also would be crafted for maximum body comfort.”
